Professor
Christoph Schlueter Langdon
Prior to joining the IS faculty at the USC Marshall
School of Business, Professor S. Langdon was a researcher in the Artificial
Intelligence Group of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and
Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prof.
Langdon holds a Dual Masters Degree in Engineering and Economics (summa
cum laude), and a Ph.D. in Economics (summa cum laude) from the Darmstadt
University of Technology in Germany.
From 1992 to 1996 he worked with Accenture's (formerly
Andersen Consulting's) IT Strategy Group in Palo Alto, New York and
Frankfurt.
Dr. S. Langdon has won industry and academic awards
and has consulted with the European Commission and global Fortune 100
firms in the area of information systems strategy and electronic business
development.
His research is focused on IS capabilities and their
implications for business strategy. Results have been published in leading
IT journals such as Communications of the ACM and IEEE
journals.
He serves on the editorial board of the Journal
of Database Management and the Journal of Information Systems
and E-Business Management. In 2001 he co-founded the Special Interest
Group on "Agent-Based Information Systems" of the Association
for Information Systems--the premier global organization for academics
specializing in Information Systems.
